Week Seven

Of Eight Nine.  If you read the earlier post, we've been pushed out a week.  The counterops went in today.  We spent about 2 hours straight standing in the kitchen admiring the beauty of the granite we selected.  As a couple, we've done a good job over the years of finding something we both like.  I wanted dark granite, he wanted something that wasn't solid black, but had some texture.  We made multiple visits to multiple granite places over December to find something we would both like.  We found a granite called Black Pearl at a place in Portland OR called Intrepid that was unlike anything we had seen.  You pick the slabs out vertical.  Then later, you see them horizontal and they don't look the same...  but luckily ours looked exactly like what we wanted- dark, but not plain black!  Love the fabricators at Stone Center (Jose), they did a great job, and the installers Jose and David.  Great attention to detail.  Would highly recommend.  We even got a great gift- a lazy Susan crafted from our own granite!  Two more weeks to go...
